The Solution To Deteriorating Concrete Grade Rings

We’ve encountered a trend lately – deteriorating concrete and mortar rings due to salt and chemicals. Our last several on-site product demonstrations were due to deteriorating concrete rings, which in-turn caused infiltration issues as well as wasted time and money.

The Trouble With Concrete Rings

This influx of deteriorating concrete rings is partly due to the age of the rings, but it is also the result of the salt and chemicals used to clear snow and ice during the winter months. Unfortunately, concrete and mortar rings were never intended to stand up to these types of chemicals. Often times, concrete and mortar rings will:

  • Crack under harsh conditions
  • Need to be kept out of sunlight during storage
  • Deteriorate due to prolonged salt and chemical exposure
  • Cause safety issues due to their weight

The Alternative To Concrete

When a prospective customer contacts us and mentions deterioration due to salt or chemicals, we very quickly begin introducing them to the PRO-RING adjustable grade ring system. PRO-RINGs are made of Expanded Polypropylene (EPP). EPP is known for its ability to stand up to the harshest of conditions without damage. In other words, the PRO-RING is:

  • Chemical and salt resistant
  • UV resistant
  • Durable and will not crack or break
  • Lightweight
  • Renowned for its strength-to-weight ratio

Truthfully, it does everything that concrete was never intended to do. And, because it can handle the environment, will not crack, and is extremely durable, it stops inflow and infiltration in its tracks. All of these benefits mean that time and money can be saved.

See For Yourself

We get it – concrete rings have been “how its done” for a long time. That’s why we offer free product demonstrations. It’s a low-risk way to see the PRO-RING in action, ask us questions, and solve a deteriorated concrete ring problem all at once. We encourage you to contact us to learn more.
